LISBON — The Lisbon Historical Society will feature a talk on restored antique hand tools at the meeting on Wednesday evening, June 11.
Frank Jordan, well-known local tool collector, will show some of his restored tools and explain how he acquires the implements, some dating from the 1800s, and how he goes about restoring them.
Restoring techniques and preparing tools for display are Jordan’s specialty. His extensive collection includes tools from the farm, from blacksmithing, even from the kitchen. He exhibits at various events, including Fryeburg Fair every year, in his specially designed trailer showcases.
At his talk for the local historical society, Jordan will bring many restored items, including several mystery implements for attendees to guess for what use they were designed.
The presentation is free and open to the public. The society meeting rooms are in the MTM Center on School Street in Lisbon Falls. Parking and entrance are at the rear of the building. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program follows a brief business meeting at 7.
