I live up in East Auburn, a rural old housing stock neighborhood, where I had a disturbing encounter with the planning and permitting director. I was informed that the city has plans to develop around the Lake Auburn watershed.
That means plunking new stuff next to the lake’s watershed.
How do you like your coffee — upstream of the latrine or downstream?
To sum it up there are plans to develop around the source of our drinking water; bring crime to the area (because we don’t have any now); and raise our property taxes to improve the livability in the neighborhood.
No critical thinking there. Just punish the homesteader.
Say what?
