LIMESTONE — More than 1,200 homes and businesses in northern Maine are without power after a power outage in Limestone.
Emera Maine says in a statement Monday that crews are patrolling power lines to isolate the location and cause of the outage, which affected 1,278 meters in Aroostook County. The utility says it expects power to be restored by 1 p.m.
Emera Maine asks residents to stay away from any downed power lines and trees that are in contact with power lines. Customers can report outages by calling the utility at 207-973-2020 or 1-855-EMERA11. Updates may be available via Twitter at @emerame.
Limestone is just east of Caribou, on the border with Canada.
