POLAND — The $20 million budget for Regional School Unit 16 was approved Tuesday by a vote of 646-488.
The budget for the school district’s fiscal year, which begins July 1, was approved by voters in all three district towns.
Mechanic Falls approved the budget 180-162; Minot, 157-71; and Poland, 309-155.
School officials estimated the budget, which is about $677,000 higher than this fiscal year, would have anl impact on local property taxes.
Taxes on a property assessed at $100,000 in Mechanic Falls are estimated to go up by $18.76, in Minot by $18.09, and in Poland by $18.93, according to Superintendent Tina Meserve.
A total of 1,046 voters in the three towns cast ballots.
