A.J. Oliver was too much for Oak Hill in Saturday’s Western Class B semifinal. But several of his teammates decided to chip in just to make sure.

Oliver homered, scored four runs and tossed a two-hitter as top-seeded Lincoln Academy thumped No. 5 Oak Hill, 11-1, in six innings, to advance to Wednesday’s Western B regional final against No. 2 Greely.

Oliver struck out nine and walked two in six innings for the Eagles, who jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back.

“He played a great game,” Oak Hill coach Matt Bray said of Lincoln’s senior captain. “They had the big hit early on and we couldn’t recover. Oliver just dominated.”

Oliver allowed only singles to Dalton Therrien and Brandon Pomerleau and an unearned run in the fifth inning.

Tim Farrar (three hits) belted a three-run homer off Raiders starter Jacob Martin  to spark the Eagles’ five-run first. Oliver added a solo shot in the second as the Eagles inflated their lead to 7-0.

Sawyer Pinkham added two hits, including a double, for Lincoln Academy (14-4). Wally Morris also added a double.

Oak Hill ends its season at 13-5.
