PORTLAND (AP) — A Westbrook woman charged with allowing her boyfriend to sexually assault a teenage female relative has backed out of a plea agreement and will stand trial instead.
Holly Morrison was in Cumberland County court on Tuesday for what was scheduled to be a change of plea and sentencing hearing.
The Portland Press Herald (http://bit.ly/1lPdv0U ) reported that the 34-year-old Morrison’s attorney told the judge that her client had changed her mind.
Morrison has pleaded not guilty to three counts of gross sexual assault and three misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Prosecutors allege Morrison was present when her boyfriend assaulted the teenager three times last fall. The boyfriend pleaded guilty and is in prison.
Morrison’s trial is scheduled to start July 14.
