Sports equipment donation

In furthering its mission to promote safety in youth sports, and to increase public awareness of the impact of concussions on the mental health of athletes, The Jake Lord Play It Safe Foundation is pleased to announce the presentation of new high quality football equipment to the members of the Spruce Mountain Football Team at 6 p.m. on Friday July 18, at the Spruce Mountain High School North Campus in Jay.

On the heels of a White House summit focused on growing concerns over sports head injuries, representatives from Maine’s congressional offices, in concert with Maine State Senator Tom Saviello, will participate in the presentation ceremony. Legislators at the local, state, and federal levels are increasingly concerned regarding sports related concussions and the long term detrimental affects.
