The new guidebook turned out beautifully thanks to Taylor’s experience, hard work and keen eye for design. Executive Director Erin Arthers is happy to announce that Taylor will continue at the Chamber throughout the summer as the part-time assistant executive director.
Taylor is from Woodville, Maine and graduated in 2011 from Schenck High School. She will be starting her senior year at the University of Maine at Farmington this fall as an English major. She has been working both in her formal classes and through outside internships toward a career in the publishing field. When describing her future goals, Taylors said, “I’m most inspired when I’m reading writing by others, so the idea of helping writers get their voices heard through publishing their books truly excites me.”
Taylor explained that she has been very fortunate in her college experience to get wonderful internships. “I’ve been an intern at Alice James Books, and I acted as the editor of the Sandy River Review, which is the University of Maine at Farmington’s literary magazine. I also was privileged to design the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce’s Welcome Guide this year as an intern, which I’ve been really excited about distributing and sharing with everyone.”
Outside of schoolwork and internships, Taylors said she enjoys journaling in her free time and singing in UMF’s a cappella group, the Clefnotes. Stop by the Chamber’s office at 615 Wilton Road (Farmington Walmart) to welcome Taylor and pick up your copy of the 2014-15 Franklin County Welcome Guide.
