Living Wills: Giving Others Our Guidance, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 10. Instructors: Jane Mullin and Matt Richard, Fortin Group, Dignity Memorial Funeral Homes. The “5 Wishes Living Will” is designed to meet one’s personal, emotional and spiritual needs, as well as medical wishes, if a serious illness occurs. Participants will learn about this important planning tool, and will receive a Five Wishes Booklet, if desired.

Let’s Talk Birds, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 11. Instructor: Jeri Maurer, Stanton Bird Club. Central Maine is a special place for birds. With fields and woods, lakes and rivers along with our own backyards, there are numerous opportunities to see and hear birds. Spend time learning about these places as well as birds as diverse as the black and white warbler and the barred owl.

Have you ever heard someone say, “No, I’ll be all right” or “I don’t want to bother anyone”? Have you ever wanted or needed to call 9-1-1, but hesitated? Gamache will explore options for the hearing impaired, what to expect when you call with a medical emergency, how cell phones and texting are handled.

Bullying Prevention, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15. Instructor: Mary Murphy, associate director, YMCA. How can we help others? We’ll learn how to identify if it’s taking place, what can happen, how to respond and the resources available.
