OSSIPEE, N.H. — A 65-year-old man had drowned while swimming on Duncan Lake in Ossipee.
The Marine Patrol of the New Hampshire State Police says the accident happened around 5 p.m. Friday. The man was swimming across a cove when he began struggling.
Family and friends swam out to try to help but the man went under. He was found in about 10 minutes and brought to shore where rescue workers tried to revive him.
The victim’s name was withheld until his family could be notified.
The drowning remains under investigation.
