PORTLAND — Cheverus High School graduates from Casco, Bridgton, Gray, Naples and Lewiston received honors during recent graduation and baccalaureate ceremonies.
the Loyalty and School Spirit Award was presented to Kodiak Simpson of Casco.
The Rev. Pedro Aruppe, S. J. Award/J.S.E.A. Award went to Gregory Grinnell Jr. of Bridgton.
Baccalaureate awards and scholarships were: Cheverus Athletic Achievement Award, Rylie Archer of Gray; MELMAC Education Foundation Maine Principal’s Scholarship, Gregory Grinnell Jr. of Bridgton; Rev. Philip C. Welch, S.J. Award, Brittany Bell of Lewiston; Southern Maine Swim Officials Association Scholarship, Jessica Soucy of Lewiston; Spanish Honor Society, Brittany Bell of Lewiston; St. Francis Xavier, S.J. Campus Ministry Award, Abigail Maker of Naples.
The Class of 2014 top 10 percent includes:
Brittany Bell, daughter of Shawn and Lisa Bell of Lewiston. She is a member of the National Honor Society and graduated summa cum laude. She received the Regis College Book Award in the fall. She is a member of the Spanish Club, the Blue Ribbon Club, the Model UN, and is on the softball team. She volunteers for the Dempsey Challenge. She will attend Boston University in the fall.
The Presidents’s Education Award for graduating with a GPA of 3.75 or higher went to Brittany Bell of Lewiston.
Bronze Prize Certificates, awarded to the top student in one subject, were given to Brittany Bell, Lewiston, precalculus; Gregory Grinnell, Bridgton, Spanish IV Honors; Abigail Maker, Naples, Spanish III.
A Gold Prize Certificate, awarded to students who are the top students in three or more subjects, was given to William McMahon, Naples, English IV, French III Honors, World War II & the 60s.
