BUCKFIELD — Twenty-two high school graduates from Buckfield, Sumner, Hartford and Hebron have been presented scholarships by Evening Star Lodge 147 AF & AM of Buckfield.
The awards are from the George and Frances Foster Scholarship Fund.
The recipients are: Abigail Campbell, Bayley Caouette, Rebecca Cooper, Kara Libby, Brian Miclon, Robert Rowe, Tiffany Umsteadt and Mickayla Wiley of Buckfield; Jeremy Austin, Mckayla Darling, Arrabine Dunn, Zephrien Gonsalves, Kali Laganiere, Kasey Pennington and Samantha Zak of Sumner; Hannah Gallant and Megan Salisbury of Hartford; and Andrew Hatch, Zachary Hebert,Cheyenne Ruane, Jordan Schorr and Willard Swift of Hebron.
Each year since 1994 graduating seniors have been eligible to apply for a scholarship award from this fund, provided they reside in Buckfield, Sumner, Hartford or Hebron and they pursuing post secondary education.
The total awarded since 1994 is $750,000 from the George and Frances Foster Scholarship Fund and the George Foster Memorial Trust.
Evening Star’s scholarship committee includes Harold “Bunky” Hall of Hebron; Frank Sweetser, Tim Turner and Jerry Wiley of Buckfield; and Stephen Perry and Mike Blank of Sumner.
