LIVERMORE FALLS — The RSU 73 board and the RSU 73 Education Association received a report from a fact-finding committee Thursday and association President Rob Taylor that said the union will meet soon to go over the report’s recommendations.
Education Association chief negotiator Julie Taylor said details of the recommendations may not be made public for 30 days.
The committee’s report is the next step in the negotiating a new contract with the district’s teachers. A request for fact-finding was made several months ago.
The contract expired Aug. 31, 2012.
One of the major sources of disagreement has been the difference in salary between Livermore Elementary School teachers and the rest of the district staff.
RSU 73 board Chairwoman Denise Rodzen set a meeting with the board’s Negotiation Committee and new Superintendent Kenneth Healey for 1 p.m. July 15 at the Central Office.
At Thursday’s board meeting, new hires were announced: Denelle Bryant, first- grade teacher, and Tanya Perreault, kindergarten, Jay Elementary School; Kayla Schuster, fifth grade at Livermore Elementary School; Brian Fielding, social studies, and Kimberly Hilton, English Language Arts, at Spruce Mountain Middle School; and Ashlee Giroux, second grade at an unspecified school.
Several advisers and educational technicians were also hired.
