1977 – 2014
LEWISTON — Jeremy Camire, 37, of Lewiston, passed away on Monday, July 7, with his loving family by his side. He is now reunited with his father, George, and his beloved dogs, Lexi and Einstein.
Jeremy was born in Lewiston on April 6, 1977, a son of Vicki and George Camire. He received his high school diploma from Lisbon High School Adult Ed in 2010.
He was a welder and iron worker by trade, working at several New England-based welding and steel construction companies. Though not working in the trade at the time of his death, he was in the process of applying for work in welding fabrication. He was proud of the work he did, and loved to drive by area buildings and parking garages with his mother, pointing out the ones he helped build.
Jeremy was known for his warm smile, kind heart and helpful nature. He was a wonderful and devoted uncle to his three nephews, Brandon, Connor and Colby, who called him “Uncle Worm,” a nod to his high school nickname. He was devoted to his animal family as well, always going the extra mile to make sure his canine companions were well taken care of — in sickness and in health.
Jeremy was an amateur mechanic and frequently could be found working on bringing old snowmobiles, motorcycles and car engines back to life. He was also a self-taught carpenter who was a tremendous help to his mother.
Always willing to lend a hand to those in need, he would be pleased that as an organ donor, he gave the gift of life to several New Englanders in desperate need.
Jeremy is survived by his mother, Vicki McCarthy Camire, and his brother, Adam Camire, both of Lewiston; his sister, Allison Camire, of Auburn; three nephews, Brandon Roy of Sabattus, Colby Birkbeck and Connor Camire of Auburn; his maternal grandmother, Natalie McCarthy, of Lewiston; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his dogs, Bentley and Jake.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Allen McCarthy; and paternal grandparents, Albert and Patricia Camire.
