UPDATED 7:07 PM: FARMINGTON — The Maine Department of Transportation reports that Temple Road was washed out Tuesday evening.

FARMINGTON — National Weather Service radar indicated a tornado near Industry moving northeast at 50 mph at about 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Tornado warnings expired at 6:45 p.m. for Somerset and Franklin counties, but that didn’t mean the danger had passed.

According to a severe weather service, hail up to ½-inch in diameter, heavy downpours, lightning and gusty winds of 35 to 45 mph are still possible.

The NWS also has issued flash flood warnings in southeastern Franklin and east central Oxford counties. The heavy rain can cause small rivers and streams to flood their banks.

Other areas in Franklin County are under a flooding advisory. The conditions are right to cause flooding.
