Vendor fair benefits Canton man
AUBURN — A benefit Sweet Summertime Vendor/Craft Fair and Raffle will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Norway Savings Bank Arena, behind Shaw’s Supermarket.

The event will benefit Alan Spear, formerly of Canton, who was in a serious accident on July 27, 2013. He is still in what is called a minimally conscious state and requires round-the-clock care. This event will help raise money to get a wheelchair lift for the family’s vehicle, and some other much needed items to help in his care.
Campground Band dance at Jay VFW
JAY — A dance will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturdays, July 19 and 26, at the VFW Hall, 64 Jewel St.
Music will be provided by the Campground Band.
Public supper at American Legion
LIVERMORE FALLS — American Legion Post 10 George Bunten will hold a public supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Post, 17 Reynolds Ave.
Cost for adults, $7; kids under 12, $4.
Menu includes homemade baked beans, red hot dogs, biscuits, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, assorted casseroles and vegetables, desserts and coffee.
Delivery is available to local addresses.

Cary Library used book sale
WAYNE — Cary Memorial Library’s used book sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Williams House, 14 Old Winthrop Road.
Last chance, last day, great bargains: All books will be sold for $1 per bag.
All proceeds benefit the Cary Memorial Library.

Substitute teacher training class
TURNER — MSAD 52 Adult & Community Education will hold a substitute teacher training class Thursday, July 24.
Topics covered will include district expectations, teacher session plans and classroom management. This course is step one in the substitute teacher application process for the district.
