FARMINGTON — Fire and Rescue personnel responded to flooded roads Tuesday night from a storm that brought threats of tornadoes to Franklin and Somerset counties, according to National Weather Service radar.

Radar showed a tornado near Industry moving at 50 mph to the northeast at about 5 p.m.

Tornado warnings expired at 6:45 p.m., but forecasters were calling for hail up to ½-inch in diameter, heavy downpours, lightning and gusty winds of 35 to 45 mph.

According to Farmington fire Chief Terry Bell, flooding occurred at the Intervale and Front Street area, Weeks Mills Road as it comes into Route 43, Cowan Hill Road off Route 27 and Clover Mill Road. 

Flash flood warnings went up from Rumford to Skowhegan, with flood advisories extending from central Oxford County to southern Franklin County.
