HARTFORD — Cindy Heald will present Laughter Yoga at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Pinpoint of Light, 546 Town Farm Road.
The concept of Laughter Yoga is based on a scientific fact that the body cannot differentiate between fake and real laughter. One gets the same physiological and psychological benefits.
Laughter Yoga is a revolutionary idea – simple and profound. An exercise routine, it is sweeping the world and is a complete well-being workout. Developed by a medical doctor from India, Dr. Madan Kataria, it has spread across 72 countries.
Are you someone who wants to move on and bring more laughter and joy into your life? Clinical research conducted at Bangalore, India, and in the United States has proved that laughter lowers the level of stress hormones in the blood.
Class time is approximately 60 to 90 minutes. Open donation.
There will be an opening circle and meditation at 12:30 p.m.
Breathwork program
Breathwork with Rev. Lashell Moon will be presented at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at Hartford Town Hall, 1190 Main St.
This class will include learning about the many gifts and power of the breath and how to breathe correctly. All who wish will receive a breath analysis to give you pointers about your own breath pattern and what to focus on to make any needed corrections.
This knowledge will help to balance and energize your being; transform stress in mind, body and spirit; release pent-up feelings and energetic constrictions; facilitate health and personal growth; aid in finding deeper meaning in being you; and enhance spiritual consciousness.
Each participant should bring padding for lying on the floor, five or six bed pillows, a blanket, water and pen and paper.
Spaces are limited, so register early. Class time is 4 1/2 hours. Suggested donation is $35.
