FREEMAN TOWNSHIP — A local man is accused of threatening a person with a gun Wednesday, Sgt. Mathew Casavant of the Maine State Police said Friday.
Glendon Ladd, 25, of Freeman Township was arrested Wednesday on a charge of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, he said.
Ladd is being held at the Franklin County Detention Center on a probation hold.
Police received a report of a disturbance in Freeman Township on Wednesday, saying Ladd had threatened the caller with a gun at a residence on the Foster Hill Road.
State police and Franklin County deputies responded and interviews were conducted with those involved.
The investigation is ongoing, Casavant said.
In 2009, Ladd was sentenced to five years in prison with all but 15 months suspended for breaking into three homes of people he knew in Strong and stealing guns and other items in 2008.
A Franklin County justice ordered Ladd to serve four years of probation following release from prison.
Ladd was one of three co-defendants in the case.
Eleven guns were taken in the burglaries, and all but one was recovered, Assistant District Attorney James Andrews told the court during a hearing in 2009. Prescription pain medication, a safe and a locked box were also taken during the incidents, he had said.
Ladd told police that the guns were sold to get money for drugs, Andrews previously said.
Ladd apologized to the people whose houses he burglarized and told them it would never happen again.
