HANOVER — Thursday’s Source to the Sea Family Day paddle down the Androscoggin River between Hanover and Rumford will start at 1 p.m. instead of 3:30 p.m., organizers said Wednesday.
The wrong time was posted for the 9.2-mile paddle on the Androscoggin River Watershed Council website, arwc.camp7.org/page-1856697.
The trip, which is from 1 to 6 p.m., on Thursday, July 24, starts at the Hanover boat launch behind the Hanover Town Office off Route 2.
According to its itinerary, the trip is described as “a nice winding paddle around Rumford Point and through Rumford Center with hill and farm views and a very high chance of eagle sightings.”
River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition will sponsor a post-paddle healthy-eating gathering at the Rumford Boat launch. Stony Brook Campground will provide a few boats and basic instruction for people to try kayaking at the Rumford Boat launch.
Additionally, the River Valley Healthy Communities will bring food for the landing in Rumford. Take-out is the Rumford boat launch just west of McDonald’s on Route 2.
