1942 – 2014
JAY — Geraldine “Jeri” Bibeau, 72, a lifelong resident of Jay, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 27, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 26, 1942, in Jay, the daughter of Eugene Pomerleau Sr. and Alma Pomerleau. She was a 1961 graduate of Jay High School. On Nov. 23, 1963, at St. Mary’s Church in Riley, she married Rene Bibeau of Livermore.
Jeri was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. She worked for Omer Beisaw from 1961 to 1976, leaving to go to work for the Jay school system, retiring in 2006. For many years, Jeri worked the football chain crew.
After her retirement, she and Rene traveled to Alaska, Canada and the western United States. Jeri especially enjoyed spending time with her family and granddaughters.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rene Bibeau; her sons, David and Michael Bibeau, all of Jay; her daughter, Tami Johnson and her husband, Robert, of Lewiston; three granddaughters, Samantha Tremblay, Ph.D., and Whitney and Kayla Bibeau; her brother, Norman Pomerleau and his wife, Honey, of Jay; sisters, Vivian Burhoe of Jay and Pauline Jepson and her husband, Harlan, of Wilton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Eugene Pomerleau Jr., Roland Pomerleau, Richard Pomerleau and Anthony “Tony” Pomerleau; and sisters, Jeannette Garrow and Virginia Pomerleau.
