LEWISTON — The Portland Comedy Co-op will return with another great lineup of Maine and New England’s best up-and-coming comedians at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at She Doesn’t Like Guthries, 115 Middle St.

This month’s featured comic will be New Hampshire’s Best Local Comedian nominee, Paul Landwehr, a Manchester-based comedian who has been living in his parent’s guest bedroom for the last 28 years. Landwehr discusses everyday problems — from anxiety to the struggles of the workplace.

The Co-op also welcomes special guest, Joe Mitchell, also from N.H., a newcomer to comedy but you wouldn’t know it. His razor wit, engaging stage presence, and blue-striped shirts will have audiences in stitches.

Host for the night will be Aharon Hebert, who most recently performed at Portland’s One Longfellow Square, and who is a comedian with a style that is impossible to imitate. Nobody tells a crazy story about cats or cheese quite like him.

Admission to this event is free though donations are accepted. The show is open to all ages, though 18 and up is recommended.
