LIVERMORE FALLS — The Livermore Falls Gazebo Committee has added a few more concerts to its summer series. All are free and open to the public.

Attendees should bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on.

The Campground Band will perform from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, and hold a dance during its performance at the gazebo behind the Livermore Falls Town Office. Dancing will go on in the gazebo area and parking lot in front of it.

On Wednesday, Aug. 20, the committee will sponsor the Kora Highlanders pipe/drum band. In 1979, a group of Kora nobles envisioned putting a pipe band together, according to a biography of the band. Members started practicing on their own and on Sept. 28, 1981, the band was accepted as new unit of Kora Shriners.

The original band consisted of 10 members; it now has 18.

The band will perform from 7 to 8 p.m. at the gazebo. A rain date is set for Aug. 21 at the same time and place.

The next concert is the Kora Shriners Band performing from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at the gazebo with a rain date of Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the same time and place.

The committee would like to see more people join it, member Doug Mosher said. There are two members, Mosher of Fayette and Ron Chadwick of Livermore Falls. Former members have either passed away or moved away, he said.

If interested, contact Mosher at 754-6648 or Chadwick at 897-2178.
