MANCHESTER — Police are looking for a man they say robbed the Manchester Rite Aid just after noon on Sunday.
A man wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap, gym shorts, sunglasses and a black hooded sweatshirt over a T-shirt that appeared to have a skull on it approached the pharmacist and claimed he had a gun in his hand hidden in his sweatshirt pocket, according to Kennebec County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ryan Reardon. The man allegedly demanded all the oxycodone and methylphenidate behind the counter.
The suspect is believed to be between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds, according to Reardon.
The pharmacist put the pill bottles on the counter and the man grabbed them and left, Reardon said.
A dog was brought to the scene to try to track the suspect, but couldn’t follow the trail far. Reardon said the man is believed to have left on a bicycle or in a vehicle left near a section of the parking lot that isn’t covered by cameras.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. David Bucknam at 623-3591, ext. 1312.
