RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of the Rev. Marcel L. Dumoulin was celebrated on Monday morning, Aug. 4, by the Most Rev. Robert Deeley, Bishop of the Diocese of Portland. Concelebrating the Mass were Monsignor Andrew Dubois, Monsignor Marc Caron, and The Rev. Fathers, Alfred Jacques, Antonio Amato, Harold Nicknair, Raymond Auger, Roger Chabot, Joseph Daniels, Tom Lequiet, Robert Vaillancourt James Martel, Frank Murray, Chris Tiselle, Jim Roy, Louis Phillips, Armand Neault and Paul Plante at the Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church.

During Mass, the Rev. Dumoulin’s niece, Andrea Cayer, proclaimed the first reading, and his former secretarial assistant, Barbara Lawler, proclaimed the second reading. The Prayer of the Faithful was recited by Monsignor Dubois. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by the Rev. Dumoulin’s sister, Louise Smith, and his brother, Robert. The altar assistant was Bernard Poirier and the organist was Mark Belanger.

The Knights of Columbus honor guard were Dane Curato, Rod Kuhl, Paul Ouellette, Ivan Boudreau and Jeremy Myles.

Following a funeral procession to St. John’s Cemetery, Bishop Deeley recited graveside committal prayers at the interment of the Rev. Dumoulin. Pallbearers were Dame Curato, David Blouin, Arthur Meader, Roger Allen, Tom Lynch and James Lynch.

At the conclusion of committal prayers, all in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship at the church hall. Assisting Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home of Lewiston with the services was the Meader and Son Funeral Home of Rumford.
