- A greylag goose commingles with mallard ducks along the banks of the Androscoggin River in Lewiston during a slight drizzle. Greylag geese, native to Europe, are generally domesticated in the United States, with a few escaping into the wild population annually. Wild populations in Europe have also been known to migrate to the U.S.
