Persons wishing to ride a special train into town from Danville next Tuesday, the first of a day-long schedule of activities commemorating French-Canadian Day during the Lewiston Summer Festival, were informed today there are 50 tickets on sale at the mayor’s office. At 8 o’clock, two special buses will leave the City Hall to take the train passengers out to the special train, which will have as its guests local city officials, along with the Mayor of Quebec. The special train, being provided by the Canadian-National Railroad, is due to arrive at the Grand Trunk Terminal on Lincoln St., at about 9:20 a.m. The tickets, which are decorated with a picture of an old-time locomotive, are printed in French. The tickets may be kept by the passengers as souvenirs.

The record for the best college-board scores may eventually be posted just like the record for the 100-yard dash at Edward Little High School under a new recognition program proposed by Principal Larry Labrie. “Everybody knows who your star athletes are,” said Labrie, who met with student leaders Wednesday to discuss the idea. “We don’t accentuate our outstanding students and academic program nearly as much as we should.” Members of the student senate applauded his idea of posting academic honors on a “wall of fame” akin to the school’s display of athletic records.
