LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Maurice H. Renaud was celebrated by the Rev. Marc Caron on Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Holy Family Church of the Prince of Peace Parish.

At the entrance of church, Maurice’s family draped the burial pall over his casket to symbolize Maurice’s baptism into a new spiritual life with God. During Mass, Maurices’s grandson, Matthew Alexander, proclaimed a reading from the New Testament and Maurice’s granddaughter, Kristen Nielson, recited the Prayer of the Faithful. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by his grandchildren, Matthew and Casandra Alexander, as well as Kristen Nielson. The communion song, “How Great Thou Art,” was played by saxophonist Roger Renaud, Maurice’s nephew. Words of remembrance were shared by Normand Renaud.

At the conclusion of Mass, Roger Renaud played taps with his bugle. Pallbearers were Danny Birdsall, Ron Jacques, Matthew and Scott Alexander. All in attendance were invited to a reception at Rolandeau’s Restaurant. Arrangements were by Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home.
