The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department wants to remind everyone to “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” with a campaign aimed at driving under the influence kicking off later this week.
Sergeant Tim Kachnovich said the Sheriff’s Department will be working in conjunction with the Maine State Police beginning Thursday to crack down on drunk drivers.
Kachnovich said the two agencies will be conducting multi-agency sobriety checkpoints and stepping up patrols aimed at detecting and arresting impaired drivers.
Kachnovich said this campaign was made possible by grant funding through the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety.
