The full schedule includes Don Roy & Friends; Sly-Chi; Joe Walsh, Brittany Haas and Owen Marshall; The Jerks of Grass; and Flight 317.
The Festival features a children’s area with face painting, an instrument petting zoo, hooping, temporary tattoos, a book corner, a dress-up area, and more. The 317 Main Pie Table will offer a myriad of donated home-baked pies sold by the slice. There will be several local food vendors.
Tim O’Brien has an innovative blend of traditional and contemporary musical styles that has made him a key figure in today’s thriving roots music scene. Based in Nashville, he has won over audiences throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Don Roy is often referred to as “The Dean of Franco-American Fiddling” throughout Maine and beyond. He will be joined by 317 Main fiddle instructor, Erica Brown, who represents the next generation to carry on Maine’s Franco fiddling tradition, as well as 317 guitar instructor Matt Shipman and Junior Stevens on button accordion and concertina.
Joe Walsh, Brittany Haas and Owen Marshall: Three masters of old-time, Celtic, and bluegrass music. Each member of this trio is widely known on mandolin, fiddle, guitar. Together, they explore the overlapping common ground of these three lively strains of folk music.
Sly-Chi is the seven-piece funk band from Portland. Featuring 317 Main keyboard instructor Tyler Stanley, the group plays an infectious blend of funk, soul, and R&B with an underlying jazz edge.
The Jerks of Grass is one of Maine’s bluegrass bands and features 317 Main instructors Jason Phelps (guitar, mandolin), Melissa Bragdon (fiddle), and Carter Logan (banjo, dobro). One of the original bands to play HenryFest 10 years ago, they will light up the stage with their blend of hard-charging bluegrass combined with contemporary influences.
Flight 317 is one of 317 Main’s most seasoned student bands. They have played together for many years and performed at many of the region’s premier events including Saddleback Bluegrass Festival, Ossipee Valley Music Festival, and HenryFest. In addition to their own set, the group will have the opportunity to join their mentors from Jerks of Grass onstage to trade licks for a few songs.
HenryFest is a rain or shine event. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the Yarmouth First Parish Congregational Church, 116 Main Street. Indoor seating capacity is limited and advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended. If available, remaining tickets will be sold at the door.
Tickets at the gate are $20 single or $40 for a family ticket. Advance tickets are $18 single/ $35 family. The event is open to all ages.
