PORTLAND (AP) — A Maine government survey says the average price of heating oil in the state has dropped 6 cents from a month ago to $3.39 per gallon.
The Governor’s Energy Office said Tuesday that the average statewide price for a gallon of heating oil ranged from $3.08 to $3.87. It also found the average price of kerosene dropped 4 cents over the last month, to $3.87 per gallon. The average propane price is now $2.85, a 3-cent rise per gallon over the last few weeks. Heating oil and kerosene are both slightly less expensive than last August, while propane is 25 cents more expensive.
The average heating oil and kerosene prices were highest in central Maine. Propane was most expensive in western Maine.
