Book sale, breakfast, boutique

WAYNE — A book sale, breakfast and boutique as part of First Saturday will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Williams House, 17 Old Winthrop Road.

Coffee, tea, scones and quiche will be for sale to benefit the Williams House. Shop at the ongoing book sale and boutique, and visit with friends and neighbors. Bring your laptop; wi-fi is available.

Info night for medical students

TURNER — MSAD 52 Adult & Community Education is offering a free information night for all of prospective Academy of Medical Profession students at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10.

This event will be broadcast through the Tandberg system at the Turner Adult Learning center. This is an opportunity for students to learn about Academy courses and ask any questions that they may have.

Mind Body Spirit Festival

FARMINGTON — A Mind Body Spirit Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the UMaine Student Center, 111 South St.

The festival will include holistic health practitioners, naturopathic medicine, energy healing, reflexology, Reiki, massage, meditation, hypnotherapy, acupuncture, medical intuitive, readings from psychics and mediums, gems, jewelry and crystals, Native American flutes, drums and rattles, metaphysical supplies, animal communicator, numerology, aromatherapy, angel readings, workshops and much more.

Admission is $5. Spiritual Table Tipping and Gallery Reading are an additional $10 each. Gallery Readings are 4 to 5 p.m.

Free community barbecue

LIVERMORE FALLS — A free community barbecue will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the American Legion Hall, 17 Reynolds Ave.

The meal is hosted by Emmanuel Assembly of God in Livermore Falls.

EMT Basic certification training

TURNER — MSAD 52 Adult & Community Education & National College of Technical Instruction will offer EMT Basic certification training.

Day classes will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays, Sept. 24 through Dec. 6.

Evening classes will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept. 15 through Jan. 21. The schedule includes one Saturday per month, Sept. 27, Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 6.

The 160-hour course fulfills all the training requirements set forth by the State. The EMT Basic course is a hands-on, interactive experience. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to take the National Registry exam.

Fee is $695, with a book fee of $150.
