POLAND — Amanda Dube tipped in a goal with just 4:02 left in the second overtime to give Poland a 3-2 win over Kennebunk in WMC field hockey action Wednesday.
Dube also scored for the Knights (1-0) in the first half, while Emily Gibson also tallied to complete the scoring. Jackie Murphy and Rachael Brigham each scored for the Rams (0-1) in a solid effort.
Tia Lowndes made 11 saves for Poland, while Liv Kudas deflected 12 shots for Kennebunk.
Edward Little 5, Brunswick 0
BRUNSWICK — Four players found the net Wednesday as Edward Little hustled to a 5-0 win over Brunswick in a season-opening KVAC field hockey matchup.
Jasmine Wyman led the Red Eddies (1-0) with a pair of second-half goals, while Kirsten Lupher, Brooke Lever and Victoria Beliveau also tallied. Lever was also credited with three assists in a solid effort.
Danica Nadeau made 13 saves for Edward Little, while Anna Webster turned aside 13 shots for the Dragons (0-1).
Lisbon 6, St. Dom’s 1
LISBON — Chase Collier registered a hat trick Wednesday to lead Lisbon to a 6-1 victory over St. Dom’s in an MVC field hockey tilt.
Courtney Lawrence, Molly Nicholson and Kate Philbrick also tallied for the Greyhounds (1-0) to complete the scoring. Hannah Braun scored the Saints’ (0-1) lone goal in the second half.
Stevie Charest made four saves for Lisbon, while Taylor Bergeron turned back 12 shots for St. Dom’s.
Lawrence 5, Mt. Blue 1
FAIRFIELD — Hallee Parlin netted three goals Wednesday to propel Lawrence to a season-opening 5-1 victory over Mt. Blue in KVAC field hockey action.
Dominique Lewis and Mckenna Rogers also tallied for the Bulldogs (1-0) to complete the scoring.
Leah St. Laurent scored for the Cougars (0-1) to prevent a shutout.
Telstar 2, Hall-Dale 1
BETHEL — Becca Howard converted a nice feed from Octavia Morin with 5:06 left in the first half to give Telstar a 2-1 victory over Hall-Dale in an MVC field hockey contest Wednesday.
Morin also tallied a first-half goal for the Rebels (1-0) to complete the scoring. Nicole Pelletier scored the Bulldogs’ (0-1) lone goal in the second frame.
Meg Glover needed only three saves to notch the win, while Molly French turned aside 34 shots between the posts for Hall-Dale.
