Dances set at American Legion
PARIS — A dance with music by the Jones Dance Band will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturdays, Sept. 6, 13, 20 and 27, at the American Legion Hall, 12 Church St.
Cost is $5.
Remembrance ceremony
NORWAY — The members of American Legion, Amvets, VFW and DUV will host a remembrance ceremony from 8:55 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, across from the American Legion Hall.
Wear red, white and blue, and bring a flag to wave if you have one.
Donations sought for barn sale
SUMNER — The Congregational Church of East Sumner will hold its sixth annual Harvest Day and “Barn” Sale in the church yard from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27. The church is at 50 Main St. (Route 219).
If anyone is cleaning out their barn/attic/garage and is looking for a worthy organization to donate to, contact Linda at 388-2263.

For the second year, organizers are collecting blankets of any size and winter clothing for the children of the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.
SMH offers ‘STOP the Bullying’
NORWAY — Stephanie Galeucia, student assessment coordinator with the Maine Department of Education, will lead a Stephens Memorial Hospital class on bullying.
Th free class will give tactics and behaviors that lead to negative interactions to be prepared to help a child or an adult from getting bullied.
“STOP the Bullying” will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, in the Harper Conference Center, 193 Main St.
