HARTFORD — The Board of Selectmen on Thursday reviewed two letters sent by Code Enforcement Officer William Kennedy ordering property owners to correct violations.
John Adams on Moses Young Road was warned of possible fines for starting construction without a permit.
Timothy and Kristina Bernard on Main Street were cited for a camper trailer that was moved to within 20 feet of water, three trees that were cut down and a lawn planted, all within restricted areas.
The Road Committee is reviewing bid packages for road projects for 2014-15.
The board approved loaning several original desks used in the Union School on Church Street to the Hartford Heritage Society.
A policy on curbside trash pickup was tabled until next meeting so board members could speak with Archie’s Inc. of Mexico.
Board Chairman Lee Holman said she thought having unattended dumpsters around town was not a good idea. Most of the town had curbside pickup.
Selectman Cathy Lowe said beavers apparently left the railroad bed property and a trapper said it would be OK to move the dam they made.
Beaver activity has been spotted on Davenport Road and the area will have to be monitored. Harley Swanson said if the animals plug the nearby little creek, it will flood the road.
The board approved a permit for Central Maine Power to move four poles farther back from Guerney Hill Road so the road can be widened.
