1923 – 2014
Lewiston — Mabel C. Rossignol, 90, of Lewiston, died on Wednesday Sept. 10, at d’Youville Pavilion following a long illness.
She was born in Van Buren, on Nov. 6, 1923, the daughter of the late William and Flavie (Labrecque) Winters and had been a resident of this community for most of her life.
She was employed as an operating room technician at Central Maine Medical Center for many years until her retirement.
Mabel enjoyed cooking, kitting and sewing, gardening and going on senior citizen trips. Most of all, she loved family gatherings and spending time with her family.
She was a member of the Lewiston and Auburn Senior Citizens, Rolina Dow Senior Citizens of Auburn and a parishioner of Holy Family Church.
She is survived by her husband, Claude L. Rossignol, whom she married on Dec. 26, 1941, of Auburn; three daughters, Terry Clavet and her husband, Luke, of Lewiston, Joannie Rossignol of Lewiston and Ann Marie Comeau and her husband, Maurice, of Farmington; three sons, Donald Rossignol of Auburn, Claude Rossignol Jr. and his wife, Pearla, of El Paso, Texas, and Patrick Rossignol of Lewiston; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Robert Rossignol, who died on Nov. 20, 1989.
