BATON ROUGE, La. — Jason Turcotte, son of Marc and Diane Turcotte of Poland, has recently earned his doctorate in media and public affairs from Louisiana State University.
He was inducted in the Kappa Tau Alpha National Honor Society.
He was also awarded the John Maxwell Hamilton Fellowship to aid in the research for his dissertation, titled, “Rules of Engagement: What Formats, Moderators, and News Values Tell Us about the Content of Electoral Debates.”
Jason has accepted a position as assistant professor of journalism at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona.

GENEVA, N.Y. — Michael Bouchard of Lewiston has been named to the dean’s list for the 2014 spring term, his junior year, at Hobart and William Smith College.
He is the son of Michael and Tina Bouchard.
He is a graduate of Hebron Academy and a biology/pre-med major.

AUGUSTA — Kevin White, son of Joe and Becky White of Rumford, graduated on May 10 from the University of Maine at Augusta.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in computer information systems.
He maintained the dean’s list during this time, was named a Rising Scholar and received the Distinguished Student Award.
Kevin is now employed by New Page in Rumford as an application analyst.

HARROGATE, Tenn. — Matthew Lamare of Lewiston received his white coat at Lincoln Memorial University-College of Veterinary Medicine’s White Coat Ceremony for the Inaugural Class of 2018. The ceremony was held on the LMU main campus in Harrogate on Aug. 15.
Lamare is a first-year veterinary medicine student. The White Coat Ceremony serves to symbolize the pathway toward becoming a doctor, including the knowledge and professionalism students will acquire.
