FARMINGTON — Franklin County commissioners will hold a public hearing Tuesday, Sept. 23, on their intent to close .27 miles of the East Madrid Road in Madrid Township to winter maintenance.
The hearing will be held at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ meeting room at the Franklin County Courthouse.
The county is in the process of getting an easement on Conley Gould’s property, which will allow it to create a new turnaround for plow trucks, county Clerk Julie Magoon said Aug. 20.
The proposed discontinued section for winter maintenance will go from the new turnaround to the end of the county way.
The county previously maintained the road until it ended, but discovered earlier this year that there was no record of making that section of road a county way.
