BETHEL — The Mahoosuc Land Trust will celebrate its 25th anniversary by inviting people to submit their original artworks or written works influenced by the Mahoosuc region, development associate Jolan Ippolito said Monday afternoon.
Artworks, photographs and written works will be accepted until Wednesday, Sept. 17.
“It’ll take some time to judge the work being submitted,” Ippolito said.
All submissions will be displayed at the Land Trust Office on Mayville Road from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, with prizes for the best photographs, original art and written works in three age categories: Ages 12 and under, 13 to 18, and 19 and older.
Ippolito said a $10 donation entry fee for the oldest age group is encouraged.
Ippolito said that this is the first time the organization has held a large event in recognition of their anniversary.
“We decided that we wanted people to submit art that expresses the natural beauty of the Mahoosuc region,” Ippolito said. “It’s a good way to celebrate our anniversary. We’re also doing this in conjunction with the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend. It seemed like the perfect time.”
