CHESTERVILLE — Residents voted 18-20 Thursday to not buy an all-season truck body for a wheeler truck, Town Clerk Heather Wheeler said Monday.
The vote was by secret ballot, she said.
Residents were asked to transfer $20,000 from the undesignated amount of the general fund and to take the remaining balance for a new truck body from the Equipment Reserve Account.
Residents voted to rename the new section of the George Thomas Road the Webber Road, Wheeler said.
They also agreed to transfer the remaining amount from reconstruction of the Town Office and purchase of voting booths in the Office Maintenance Account to buy appliances for the kitchen. The Town Office is designated an official emergency shelter for town residents.
