LEWISTON — The Lewiston High School Class of 1949 recently held its 65th class reunion at the Sedgley Place in Greene.
Reunion chairwoman Anne Kalwell and Pauline Morin Fournier, who assisted with the planning of the reunion, welcomed classmates and guests who came from the New England area, Florida, Illinois and California. There were 44 in attendance, including 26 classmates.
Music was provided by Martha Feeley and Rachel Feeley on the keyboard, featuring songs of the ’40s and ’50s.
Prior to dinner, Gerard Ruel spoke of his relationship with his friend and classmate, Frank O’Connell, who chaired the reunion for many years and passed away on June 20. A moment of silent prayer was held for all of the deceased alumni.
After dinner, greetings were read from the cards and letters of classmates who were unable to attend.
At the conclusion of the festivities, a discussion and vote was held and the group decided to donate the remainder of the class fund to Lewiston High School “Friends of LHS,” a scholarship fund.
