LEWISTON — Police responded late Monday afternoon to 54 Ridgewood Ave. for a report of a man who was stabbed in the chest. He was taken by United Ambulance Service to Central Maine Medical Center for treatment.

According to Sergeant Danny Lachance of the Lewiston Police Department, the man who was stabbed was talking and alert when emergency personnel arrived.

Lachance said the investigation is still in its early stages, and no charges have been filed yet. Lachance said the department is investigating the stabbing as a domestic dispute.
