LIVERMORE — Residents are being asked what Town Office hours would best meet their needs.

A survey is available at the Town Office listing five scenarios, including keeping the hours as is, Town Clerk Renda Guild said Tuesday.

“I think scenarios are very good,” and one of them should work, she said. “I want to make it more user-friendly.”

It is the first time in 16 years Guild is considering changing hours to help residents get to the office to do business.

People used to work around the area and the hours didn’t seem to be an issue, she said. More people are now working out of town and she sees some having difficulty to make it to the Town Office before it closes, she said.

The survey is also available at www.surveymonkey.com/s/KP6PV8X.

Each scenario keeps the weekly office hours at 36 because that is what the town budgeted for, she said.

The options for Town Office hours are:

* 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, closed Friday.

* 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, closed Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

* 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, 8 a.m. to noon Friday.

* Same as now — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The survey will be ongoing through Election Day, Nov. 4.

“I want to make sure it is what they want,” Guild said of the hours.

The surveys are being put in a locked ballot box.

Once the results are compiled, they will show the Board of Selectpersons what the highest need is, she said.
