LEWISTON — The Young Professionals of Lewiston Auburn Area will present the 4th annual Candid Candidates forum from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Franco-American Heritage Center on Cedar Street.
The public is invited.
This year’s forum will focus on candidates running for state legislative offices. With 16 candidates confirmed, it will give voters an opportunity to learn where candidates stand on issues affecting the region.
“While voting is a right we as citizens all have, young professionals in our region believe that it is our responsibility to be an educated voter, and this is why we make this forum available each year,” Heidi Sawyer said in a news release.
Sawyer will serve as the moderator.
The evening will begin with light appetizers and networking with candidates. The program will begin at 5:30 p.m. Time will be allotted for attendees to ask questions and for a greeting time at the end.
The YPLAA team has reached out to members to identify a list of topics to be discussed, including job creation, social responsibility, taxes, education and the legalization of marijuana.
