PARIS — Police said a Lewiston man faces felony drug charges again after police raided his home in an investigation into regional heroin and cocaine trafficking.

Joshua Leavitt Morin, 28, of Reginald Lane made an initial appearance in Oxford County Superior Court on Friday. He faces two felony charges of conspiracy to commit trafficking in scheduled drugs, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and violation of condition of release.

Morin intended to sell to Maxx Christopher Noble, 27, who turned himself in to police last week after going on the run, according to an affidavit by Maine Drug Enforcement Agent Tony Milligan. Noble had slipped free from a police cruiser while officers conducted a search of his home, looking for heroin and cocaine for redistribution, according to the affidavit.

On Oct. 1, MDEA agents raided Morin’s home, seizing scales with trace amounts of white powder residue, suboxone strips — used to treat opiate addictions — and marijuana remnants, the affidavit said.

Shortly afterward, deputies from the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office pulled Morin over as he was driving on Route 26 in Oxford. They seized $4,066 in cash, a cellphone, hypodermic needles and notated paper that’s believed to be a drug ledger, Milligan wrote.

Morin reportedly denied knowledge of the seized materials and told police he was not a drug dealer, the affidavit said.

In June 2013, Norway police arrested Morin on a charge of trafficking drugs, a Class B felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. That led to a guilty plea in exchange for admission in the Androscoggin County Drug Court, where he was ordered to complete community service work.

As a condition of that agreement, Morin is barred from selling or possessing illegal drugs and subject to random search and seizures. A motion to revoke bail was filed by the state on Oct. 2.

Morin is being held on $10,000 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 6, 2015.
