SALEM — No. 10 Carrabec (8-7) and Mt. Abram (10-5) traded vollies for the entire game before William Crawford punched in the game-winning goal 5:30 into the first overtime, giving the Cobras a 1-0 victory in a Western Class C boys’ soccer preliminary game on a damp Friday.
The Cobras narrowly outshot the Roadrunners, 8-6, but Mt. Abram held the advantage in corners, 7-4.
Mt. Abram goalie Tristen Dyer made eight saves.
Fryeburg 3, Leavitt 0
FRYEBURG — Ben Darling, Teordor Antelj and Max Kumer all scored goals as Fryeburg Academy (6-6-3) made quick work of Leavitt (7-8) with a 3-0 victory in a Western Class B boys’ soccer preliminary game Friday.
The Raiders scored first in the opening half and came up with two more goals in the second.
The Hornets actually outshot the Raiders, 21-11 and Leavitt goalie Ben Fullerton made seven saves. Fryburg goalie Will Zeliff made 16 saves to earn the shutout.
