AUBURN — Police say a man wearing a Spiderman mask robbed a Big Apple store at 296 Main St. early Monday morning.
The man showed a knife to a clerk and demanded money, Deputy Chief Jason Moen said in a written statement.
The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money after the 1:54 a.m. incident. He ran through Bonney Park to Lewiston, Moen said.
A male customer in the store ran after the suspect and was punched by the man in the park. The customer was treated at the scene.
The suspect was described as a thin, white male wearing a blue, hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and the mask. He is about 5 feet, 3 inches tall. He was last seen crossing the foot bridge into Lewiston.
Police are continuing to investigate.
