RUMFORD — The Beacon House Social Club will hold its inaugural Halloween party from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at its office on Canal Street.

Beacon House peer member Heidi Blais said the club had been looking for new events to host that would “help us get our name out there a little bit more. A Halloween party was the first thing that popped into our head, and we figured we could get a little bit of support from it.”

The party is open to the public regardless of age, Blais said.

“Kids will have the chance to bob for apples, and play a game called ‘Pin the Nose on the Witch,’” she said. “We’re also going to have a guessing game where people can guess how much candy is in a jar, and a costume judging contest. The members and staff of the social club may be dressed up in their own costumes too.”

Blais said any money raised at the party will go toward keeping the club’s doors open and holding events for members.

“We’re hoping to continue doing these types of events whenever we have a chance,” Blais said.
