DIXFIELD — Town Manager Carlo Puiia said Wednesday that selectmen will meet next week to discuss what to do about the amended Wind Energy Facility Ordinance that was voted down Tuesday.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at the Ludden Memorial Library.

Residents voted 562-557 against the revised set of regulations governing wind power projects.

The ordinance was approved in 2012, but selectmen voted to send it to the Planning Board in early 2013 to strengthen it.

Puiia said although the amended ordinance was rejected, the town still has an ordinance on the books.

“The way the question was worded, it asked if the town should repeal the Wind Energy Facility Ordinance from June 12, 2012, and enact the amended ordinance,” he said. “We also have the 180-day moratorium that was approved in August. That should last until about mid-February.”

Puiia said, “I imagine that the board would try to take the work that’s already been done with the ordinance and tinker with it a little bit more in time for the June ballot. I know that the board will be discussing their options at their next meeting.”
