Here at Central Maine Community College, we recognize that our friends are one of our greatest assets. And so to you, our friends, we extend a heart-felt thank you for the support you have given us over these past 50 years.

Our business and industry partners have provided steadfast advocacy and support of our programs and students since the College was founded in 1964. This support is demonstrated by providing scholarships, internships, job opportunities, as well as serving on our program advisory committees and testifying before the Legislature during critical times in our history.

The CM Foundation, led by a volunteer board of directors, has not only funded an endowment, but has generously contributed almost one million dollars for scholarships and capital improvements. The support the College and our students have received from this community will benefit generations to come.

The educational partnerships we have enjoyed across Maine from those in K-12 through higher education have been enormously helpful. These educators have worked with determination to help us develop new courses and programs, and most importantly transfer agreements that allow Maine students to transition seamlessly into baccalaureate programs. For this, we as a College and citizens of Maine are grateful.

Maine voters have chosen to support Central Maine Community College and the Maine Community College System with unwavering commitment when approving bond issues and referenda. These initiatives have enabled the College and our System to offer affordable tuition and expanded capacity to provide students access to much-needed new technology.

In fact, we have just broken ground on a new academic building that will feature state-of-the art technology. CMCC students, faculty and staff understand they are indebted to the voters of Maine for the opportunities they have been given at Central Maine Community College.

In celebrating 50 years of educating the workforce of tomorrow, thanking you, the friends of Central Maine Community College, is one of our greatest pleasures.
